Organizing your vigil is simple! Here’s all you need to do …

1. Plan Your Vigil

Select your vigil location.

To find the nearest office of your U.S. Senator, go to:

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

On that page, find your two Senators by the state in which you live. Click the link on the Senator’s name to go to their web page. On that page, look for the locations of their office(s) back home in your state.

To find the nearest office of your U.S. Representative, go to:

https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

Enter your state and zip code, and hit the “Contact My Representative” button to be taken to a list of their offices.

Once you choose your location, make plans to gather with other people of faith and conscience from Noon to 1 PM (in your time zone) in the public right of way outside of the office you select.

Contact your Senator or Representative’s office before your vigil, and invite your elected official to join your vigil outside on Friday at noon — to pray with you for an end to tax funding of Planned Parenthood and abortion providers. Identifying if your Representative voted to de-fund Planned Parenthood, and then encourage them to make the vigil a show of support – including making signs that say “Thank You Rep. XXX!”

2. Promote Your Vigil

The most powerful form of advertising in the world is “word of mouth.” With the short turnaround on this project, the success of each vigil will be dependent on how fast, far, and wide you spread the word to invite others to join you at Friday’s vigil!

Send an e-mail to everyone you know using the sample template (feel free to modify):

Post an update on Facebook and send tweets on Twitter using these sample templates:

Send a press release early Friday morning to all your local media outlets announcing your local vigil, using this sample template (Word document):

3. Conduct Your Vigil

Holding a vigil is completely legal, and must remain peaceful and prayerful.

All communications should be focused on 3 key messages:

1. Planned Parenthood is aiding & abetting underage sex trafficking with our Tax $
2. Planned Parenthood is unsafe for women and girls
3. Protect Women and Girls! No More Tax $ for Planned Parenthood!

Make signs for participants to hold at your vigil! Either get some white poster board and red and black markers to write these messages, or click the images below to get PDF files of each sign to have printed at a local copy shop on 24 x 36″ paper or card stock.

Make copies of the Fact Sheet and Q&A Sheet to distribute to all participants. These documents include details of theinstitutional scandal rocking Planned Parenthood and have guidelines for vigil behavior and how to deal with any media coverage.
